A link to a November 2016 article that describes the Obama administration’s October 2016 FISA court application, which WAS approved.
According to the account in the link, the October 2016 FISA warrant was granted in connection with the investigation of suspected activity between a Trump campaign server and two Russian banks, SVB Bank and Alfa Bank. However, it is thought in the intelligence community that the warrant covers any ‘US person’ connected to this investigation, and thus covers Donald Trump and at least three further men who have either formed part of his campaign or acted as his media surrogates.
The warrant was sought, they say, because actionable intelligence on the matter provided by friendly foreign agencies could not properly be examined without a warrant by US intelligence as it involves ‘US Persons’ who come under the remit of the FBI and not the CIA. Should a counter-intelligence investigation lead to criminal prosecutions, sources say, the Justice Department is concerned that the chain of evidence have a basis in a clear warrant.
Sources say, the FISA warrant was granted in part because of the involvement of Vladimir Putin’s own daughters. One is married to a senior official at Gazprom, where Carter Page (a Trump foreign policy advisor and oil industry consultant) and Paul Manafort reportedly have holdings; another to Kirill Shamalov, a banking official.
Barack Obama’s ‘denial’ in response to Donald Trump’s claims of wiretapping is not a denial that it happened, merely that HE ordered it.
Not 100% sure what prompted Trump to issue these tweets, but it appears tied to the wire tapping I referenced in the original e-mail. Did Trump discover hard evidence or did he receive an internal report that Obama did indeed tap his phones in the Trump Tower prior to the election, and despite the FISA court denying Obama’s wire tap request in June 2016? Whatever the case, these tweets are provocative even for Trump tweets – and this could escalate quickly. Certainly it will prompt a response from Barack Obama.
In June 2016 the Obama administration asked the FISA Court for permission to wiretap (basically collecting data by any/all means including reading e-mail, eavesdropping, etc. ) Trump and his insiders. The FISA Court rejected the request as over-broad. In October of 2016 the Obama administration resubmitted their FISA request, this time narrowing the scope and, apparently, removing Trump as a target. See the following link for a report on the Obama administration’s FISA wiretap request.
On November 8, 2016 Trump is elected President. Shortly thereafter the Obama administration’s intelligence agencies began drafting new rules that expanded access to raw data captured by the NSA, to all 16 intelligence related departments in the government. James Clapper authorized the rule changes allowing wide-ranging departmental access to raw intelligence on December 15, 2016 and Loretta Lynch did the same on January 3, 2017. President Obama signed the rule change on January 11, 2017 – just 9 days before Trump’s inauguration. The ACLU called the move an erosion of the privacy rights of Americans. Now why would an administration that was just about to handover the reins of government, feel an urgent need to expand access to raw NSA intelligence? Here is a link to the January 11, 2017 NY Times article reporting the rule change.
The March 1, 2017 edition of the Daily Mail carried the following headline – “Barack Obama’s close confidante Valerie Jarrett has moved into his new DC home, which [will be] the nerve center for their plan to mastermind the insurgency against President Trump.” Obama’s new DC home is but 2 miles from the White House and is called the Kalorama mansion. According to a close Obama family friend, Obama and Jarrett intend for the mansion to be the nerve center of the mounting insurgency against his successor, Donald Trump. Obama’s goal, according to the close family friend, is to oust Trump from the presidency either by forcing his resignation or through his impeachment.
The Obama family friend went on to tell the Daily Mail that, ‘Obama is dismayed at the way Trump is tearing down his legacy—ObamaCare, the social safety net and the welcome mat for refugees he put in place,’ the source continued.
Trump’s cabinet picks are also problematic for the former president, especially Jeff Sessions as Attorney General, whom Obama regards as too racially insensitive to be in charge of the Civil Rights division at Justice.
Leaving Jim Comey as FBI Director is another thorn in Obama’s side. He blames James Comey for announcing that he was reopening the FBI investigation into Hillary’s emails eleven days before the election, which, in Obama’s view, was an irresponsible act that helped elect Trump.
Is it clear now what is and has been underway – an overt attempt to subvert the new administration? Certainly the NSA data that was captured (transcripts of telephone conversations, etc.) and disseminated by someone(s) in one or more of the 16 intelligence agencies (aka the Deep State), has been put to good use and will continue to be as they move forward with their objective. What has occurred over the last month-and-a-half, is just a taste of what is coming. Taking down various cabinet officials is a sideshow and useful in weakening the president – but Trump is the trophy.
