After an electronic threat mailed from Frankfurt in Germany against several schools within one Los Angeles District , the district has mandated the closure of all of campuses on Tuesday. The schools re-opened this Wednesday.
New York got a threat like this, but decided it was not real.
Steve Zimmer, president of the LA Unified school board, said:
“We need the cooperation of the whole of Los Angeles today (…) We need families and neighbors to work together with our schools and with our employees to make sure our schools are safe throughout today (…) We are taking this action in abundance of caution to make sure that every child in the LA Unified School District and every employee is absolutely safe,”
More than 655,000 students were told to stay at home for a day.
