A video released on YouTube by Syrian activists, claims that four civilians have died in Russian airstrikes.
According to AlJazeera, the UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed that airstrikes were being carried out in the province of Hama and near the Syrian Idlib province.
The news comes amid reports of a new offensive being launched against the Syrian rebels by the forces of Bashar al-Assad.
Russia had stepped up its militarily precence in Syria in September. Hama is located between Aleppo and Damascus. Like the neighboring Homs area, it is crucial to President Bashar al-Assad’s control of western Syria.
Next is an offensive in Aleppo by Assad, supported by Iranians and Russian jets.
