The ambassador called the gift “a gesture that comes from the heart”.
During a police operation targeting the mastermind of the november attacks, the Belgian sheperd Diesel, had been killed.
Now, Russia’s Interior Ministry gave a German shepherd puppy to ambassador Jean-Maurice Ripert. The dog is named named Dobrynya after the protagonist of a popular Russian fairy-tale.
The gift comes at a time when France and Russia are both engaged in war in Syria, where both countries have different objectives. While it might look superficial to some, small gestures like this can go along way to improve diplomatic relations.
